Cameron Lake borders the town of Fenelon Falls and is very popular in the Kawarthas, with many permanent homes and seasonal properties. The lake is some 6.7 kilometres long by 3.5 kilometres wide and is fairly deep, reaching 15 metres in places. The lake lies between locks 34 & 35 on the Trent-Severn Waterway. It’s a big fishing destination with lots of bass of all varieties, pickerel (walleye) and muskie. Boyd and Rathbun Islands add scenic geography to Cameron Lake, which also boasts the sandiest-bottom waterfront, making for great kid-friendly swimming. The Victoria Rail Trail climbs up the eastern shore of Cameron Lake. At 85 kms long it’s a favourite with hikers and off-road cyclists.
